Before and After-Care
BEFORE-CARE
Before-care is available in the school library beginning at 8:00 am each day that school is open. Parents need to sign their child(ren) up in advance to attend before-care. You can call or e-mail the office to sign up during the year. Children need to be dropped off no later than 8:15 am. If you arrive after 8:15, you will need to wait until 8:30 when the school doors open. Before care will be charged at $3 per child per day.
AFTER-CARE FOR HALF-DAY PRIMARY STUDENTS
Half-day primary students are eligible to attend Northeastern Presbyterian Child Development Center, located at 2112 Varnum St., NE in Washington, DC. Care is available from 12pm-6 pm Monday through Friday. No lunch is provided; children should bring their own lunches, which they will consume at NEPCDC. Transportation: Children are transported to the Extended Care by vans and staff of the Northeastern Presbyterian Child Development Center. Individual families will provide a car seat for each child to ride in. The transportation is provided for in the weekly fee; there is no additional fee for transportation.
Registration: Children will register directly with NEPCDC. There is an annual $50 registration fee per child.
Fees: $100 per week.
AFTER-CARE FOR FULL-DAY STUDENTS
Students who are at CFMS until 3:00 have the option of registering for Club Joe's, an arts-based after-school program at Joe's Movement Emporium in Mt. Rainier.
Hours: 3:00 to 6:00 pm
Rates: $15 per child per day. Registration is flexible.
Transportation: Children walk from CFMS to Joe's Movement Emporium with Joe's staff members.
Registration: Children must register with Joe's at least 24 hours before attending for the first time. Parents must register their children directly with Joe's and are encouraged to sign-up in late spring or early summer as the program fills up. Children must also be signed up each day that they are supposed to go to Extended Care on the daily sign-up sheet (available when you drop off your child for school).
